Review Integrity Policy

A review on Tour Rated is only useful if it's real. This page explains what we do to make sure it is, and what we consider a violation.

What a real review looks like

  • Written by the person who took the lesson — not by a friend, family member, or assistant
  • Based on a firsthand instructional experience with the specific coach
  • Submitted through the Tour Rated review form with a verified email address
  • Not written in exchange for a free lesson, a discount, or any other benefit from the coach

What we consider a violation

Incentivized reviews. Coaches may not offer any benefit in exchange for a review — a discount, a free session, anything. Golfers may not submit a review in exchange for compensation of any kind. If we find this happening, reviews from that period will be removed and the coach's account will be flagged. Repeated violations may result in removal from the platform.

Note: Tour Rated's own sweepstakes does not require or encourage submitting a review. Entering the giveaway has nothing to do with reviews. That's intentional.

Coordinated review campaigns. Multiple reviews submitted from the same device, from email addresses at the same domain, or in an obvious cluster following a coach prompting their network all at once are treated as potentially coordinated. These are held for manual review before publication.

Self-reviews. A coach reviewing their own profile — or asking a business partner or family member to do it — is a violation.

Competitor attacks. Submitting negative reviews of a competitor's profile is a violation.

AI-generated content. Reviews that appear to have been generated rather than written by a person will be rejected.

What happens when something looks off

We don't auto-remove reviews based on algorithmic flags alone. When something looks suspicious, we hold the review, investigate manually, and may reach out to the reviewer to confirm basic details about their lesson experience. Reviewers who don't respond within five days will remain unpublished.

Coach responsibilities

By claiming a profile, coaches agree not to solicit, arrange, or coordinate fake or misleading reviews — about themselves or anyone else on the platform.

Reviewer responsibilities

By submitting a review, you're representing that the experience was real, the review is your own, and you weren't paid for it.
